Italy-Taiwan financial ties strengthen as ICCT and TABF discuss partnership

In a first-ever official visit by the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Taipei to the Taiwan Academy of Banking and Finance (TABF) 台灣金融研訓院, ICCT President Andrea Sing-Ying Lee on January 16th led a delegation of members and staff to meet with the TABF’s Chairman Paul C. D. Lei and President Kao Yi-Cheng.

The meeting provided the two organizations an opportunity to discuss future cooperation that spans the holding of forums and inviting of speakers to introduce Italy’s banking and financial industry to Taiwan, supporting efforts to encourage Taiwan banks to set up branches in Italy so they can support Taiwan firms doing business there, as well as assist Italian banks enter or expand their presences in the Taiwan market. This includes helping increase awareness of and promoting Taiwan’s new Asian Asset Management Center in Kaohsiung to Italian financial institutions, such as banks, asset managers and family offices.

Given the TABF’s key role in talent development, financial training, preparing for certifications, and knowledge sharing, the two organizations aim to focus on helping financial institutions and talent understand the banking and financial systems in Italy and Taiwan.
