The Italian Chamber of Commerce in Taipei held its first-ever visit to the headquarters of the Bankers Association of the Republic of China on January 6th, with ICCT President Andrea Sing-Ying Lee meeting with BAROC Secretary General Wang Tsong-Ming and accompanied by ICCT Vice President Chris Cottorone, Treasurer Matteo Serone and Secretary Sandra Yueh. Also attending the meeting were the BAROC’s Deputy Secretary General Gordon Liu and Winnie Wen. The ICCT’s visit to BAROC follow recent meetings by the chamber with Taiwan’s Financial Supervisory Commission and the Securities and Futures Institute.
Founded in 1983, BAROC represents over 60 domestic and international banks. The meeting with ICCT supports deeper cooperation between Italian and Taiwanese banking sectors, particularly in corporate lending, wealth and private banking, fintech, asset management and talent development. This collaboration is timely as Taiwanese companies expand in Italy and Italian banks show increasing interest in Taiwan’s financial market, including the Asian Asset Management Center in Kaohsiung, with both sides aiming to jointly organize knowledge-sharing events.
